Publication Ethics

Jurnal Inovasi dan Transformasi Pendidikan (JITP) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This ethical statement is based on the principles of transparency, integrity, and responsibility in scholarly publishing and follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.


1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors who submit manuscripts to Jurnal Inovasi dan Transformasi Pendidikan (JITP) are required to adhere to the following ethical principles:

  1. Originality and Plagiarism
    Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original works. All sources used must be properly cited. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism or duplicate publication, is strictly prohibited.

  2. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
    Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Submitting the same research to multiple journals constitutes unethical publishing behavior.

  3. Data Accuracy and Integrity
    Authors are responsible for the accuracy of data presented in the manuscript. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is considered unethical and unacceptable.

  4. Authorship and Contribution
    Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All contributors who meet the criteria for authorship must be listed, and all listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.

  5. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
    Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their findings.

  6. Acknowledgment of Sources
    Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced the reported research.


2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors of Jurnal Inovasi dan Transformasi Pendidikan (JITP) are responsible for making publication decisions based on the academic merit of manuscripts and must adhere to the following principles:

  1. Fair Play
    Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of intellectual content without regard to race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

  2. Confidentiality
    Editors must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and editorial advisers.

  3. Publication Decisions
    Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts submitted to the journal should be published, guided by the journal’s editorial policies and legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.

  4. Conflicts of Interest
    Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.


3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers play a critical role in assisting editors and authors in improving manuscript quality. Reviewers are expected to adhere to the following ethical standards:

  1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions
    Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and may help authors improve their manuscripts.

  2. Promptness
    Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or cannot complete the review within the stipulated time should notify the editor promptly.

  3. Confidentiality
    Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others.

  4. Objectivity and Constructiveness
    Reviews should be conducted objectively, with clear and constructive comments to support authors in improving their work.

  5. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
    Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors or institutions involved.


4. Ethical Responsibilities of the Publisher

The publisher of Jurnal Inovasi dan Transformasi Pendidikan (JITP) is committed to ensuring that editorial decisions are independent and free from commercial influence. The publisher supports editors in maintaining ethical standards and will assist in handling cases of alleged publication misconduct.


5. Handling of Ethical Misconduct

In cases of suspected misconduct, including plagiarism, data falsification, or unethical research practices, JITP will follow COPE guidelines to investigate and resolve the issue. Actions may include manuscript rejection, retraction of published articles, and notification to relevant institutions if necessary.
