This study aims to analyze the transformation of students’ social behavior within the context of local culture through a social ecological perspective at SMAN 2 Lambu. The research is grounded in the assumption that students’ social behavior is not static but dynamically shaped through interactions between individual characteristics, school practices, family support, and cultural values. This study addresses the limited number of context-based studies that explore social behavior transformation by integrating local cultural dimensions into the educational ecosystem. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving seven purposively selected informants consisting of students, subject teachers, and homeroom teachers. Data were collected through classroom and school observations, in-depth semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed using data reduction, thematic display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that students’ social behavior underwent a gradual transformation from passive, group-limited, and individualistic patterns toward more inclusive, cooperative, empathetic, and responsible social interactions. This transformation was supported by social-pedagogical innovations, such as collaborative learning practices, value-based school activities, and the integration of local cultural values emphasizing mutual respect and collective responsibility. The results confirm that the school functions as a transformative social space when supported by positive leadership, school culture, and stakeholder collaboration. However, the study is limited by its small number of informants, short research duration, and focus on a single school context, which may restrict broader generalization. Future research is recommended to apply longitudinal or comparative approaches to examine the sustainability of social behavior transformation across different cultural and educational settings.
